It seems like every time I eat a meal, maybe 30 minutes or so after eating, I get a hard heart palpitation that will almost stop me in my tracks. A few minutes after that I get the sensation of gas and stomach discomfort like I need to use the restroom...
Is anyone else out there feeling this and can relate??

I forgot to mention that once I get the heart palpitations, I get a bout of dizziness...
Can anyone relate?

Hi Misty.......
Yes I can relate............I have also discused this with my primary care Doctor and he said its this thing called "ANXIETY"..lol..lol. He was trying to be funny, The pattern I have learned with this is what kind of thoughts am I having when I am eating? Is my mind on the present or is it somewhere else that is triggering anxiety? I could be watching a spiritual channel and be eating at the same time and there is no problem but the minute I am just eating and THINKING tooooo much watch here it all comes....Observe your thoughts and not the possibilities of your heart when this happens....What are you thinking about as you swallow? Is it the taste or experiencing a trigger from a thought?
Also when I eat too much sugar (carbs) my heart does race and I do get spacey....kind of jittery....water and walking always takes that away .
Blessings to you always

Hey Believer,
Its amazing that anxiety call cause of these different symptoms! I think you exactly right on your advise. I think way too much especially when I eat...
Thanks for your input,
Misty

I have the same issue, and it causes me more anxiety after it happens. I haven't gotten a colonoscopy yet, just the symptoms of IBS. Went to the ER at one point with colitis and then returned a year later. ER doc said he was pretty sure it was IBS (after having looked at previous CT scan and blood work) but I'm going to a gastro specialist soon.

This sounds like acid reflux symptoms to me - I get the same thing, very uncomfortable. I have slowly figured out that it only happens when I eat foods that I can't tolerate or too much. Have you tried to eat small, frequent meals? Snack or 'graze' throughout the day, instead of sitting down for 3 larger meals?

I have had this problem several times. I have had 4-5 ekgs and been put on a heart monitor. The dr says it is gas not palipitations. I usually burp and feel 100 percent better.

This is probably related to what's in your food. If you aren't eating pure food, your body can go through a number of reactions, which can also trigger anxiety.

I strongly suggest consulting with a naturopath doctor and seeking allergy testing.

YES.. After any amount of food, I felt like my heart was all out of wack. I researched it and saw that some sort of nerve that runs into your chest can make you feel like you have heart palpitations during digestion. You are not alone, and I am sure we all don't have heart issues
