Well, I have been battling pure O OCD. My medication regimen of Lamictal and Prozac is not working. I've been on Prozac several times before and never had much of an issue. So I'm thinking it's the Lamictal. I went from having lots of thoughts with lots of anxiety. To seldom having thoughts with a ton of anxiety and the addition of panic attacks. Thats a whole different story though...
Recently I have been reading Imp of the Mind which I find incredibly intriguing. However, I read the section meant to calm most people down about thinking that they would not act on their thoughts and actually got more anxious. Thinking am I sure I don't find pleasure in these thoughts? The anxiety that came along with those thoughts kinda reassured me that I do not enjoy them. But I just thought it was a strange turn of events.
I hope that everyone is doing well and best of luck finding relief from this horrible disorder.

Roxy - Stop buying into your thoughts. Use your stop sign right away and everytime. You have no control over what thoughts come in but you do have control over any subsequent thoughts. Say STOP - loud and clear - either out loud or in your mind. Then bring your attention to what you are doing in the present moment. Practice this over and over again. You WILL see results.
Your scary thoughts are are just a neurobiological quirk. We are just born that way but there is something you can do about it. Start today. There is no need for you to feel miserable anymore.
Doesn't matter what your scare thoughts are. The content of your thoughts is immaterial. The scarevoice comes up with new ones all the time.
Practice. You see a big difference.
