Stress Center Peer Support

So I have overcome the fear of my obsessions and have been doing very well, but I still feel I have thoughts racing through my mind constantly. I have a lot of anxiety, and I think it's because these thoughts are constantly racing through my mind. I am pretty sure I have GAD, so my question is, if I got put on meds, would they be for GAD or for ocd. I feel like if the thoughts stopped, my anxiety level would go down, but I also feel I have a lot of anxiety just in general...So would the meds be for ocd, or anxiety, or both?

Usually medications for OCD would treat GAD at the same time. I just saw a psychiatrist for the first time the other day and he says that SSRI's are good for OCD. I was diagnosed OCD with a hint of personality disorder, whatever that means!!
