I would suggest some good old ERP - that has helped me tremendously. Change the brain! Have you ever read about ERP or seen a specialist in OCD?

Shamrock, Its normal to wonder about things wrong when you just got through worrying about a previous health problem. The medical world focuses more on people getting and watching for diseases then actually keeping you well, stressfree and health conscious. As an RN and experiencing alot of "PAINS" that are more muscle related from the tension I have had working and the physical labor I endured I tend to "THINK IT OUT FIRST" before I run to a doctor. I have had shoulder and left arm pain ever since I was on crutches for a severe knee injury. I completely omitted the heart thing knowing how out of shape physically I am. I do go to a doctor when I feel that something is really out of sorts. I dont mess with that. But I can relate to what you are talking about and letting your mind get the best of you. It can take alot of quality out of your life if you let it. This is what makes people MORE ill. Hope I helped you out in a way.

Faby, hang in there. You have been through tougher things than anxiety. Look into some therapy. I really think it works.

I just cant take it anymore! Been health obsessed forever but really bad the last couple of weeks! I wake in the morning to scan my body for any signs of pain then basiclly go through my day with any twinge and start to freak out. I obsess about something wrong with my heart...I also have shoulder pain and herniated discs in my neck which does cause pain and numbness. I am just done totally exhauseted I pace the floor with my hand on my heart. I just want to run until this feeling goes away but it never does.

Sorry that you are struggling.

I am doing a little better. I still has lapses where I start poking and prodding...and then sure enough, the pain starts again. My husband has been a wonderful resource for me during this time. He has checked and checked for lumps under my arm and breast and there continues to be nothing...except HUGE muscle knots. I am still going to massage therapy and it helps tremendously.

I too struggle with these kinds of thoughts. I know here and there I have obsessive thoughts alot in my daily life. I will find that start to feel tense after thinking about my health. My dad died from congestive heart failure but he had a heart attack that was undetected(the doc he saw was an idiot) and died a month and half later of congestive heart failure. I guess after his autopsy it looked as if he had heart disease for about 13 years and it looked genetic. Well we never would have known what genetic ailments he would have had because he was adopted. Anyway. Anytime I have any type of pain related to symptoms of heart disease or heart attacks I flip in my mind. Or pain in the legs. I have had the doctor look feel around and have been to the ER once and it was a stomach thing. So yeah..here and there I freak out too.. when I am not freaking out it is always there in the back of my mind.
