So thinking I am dying from everything and thinking about cancers or heart attacks all day long is not OCD?

nope. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is different than hypochondria. If I get a headache, I'll know I have a brain tumor and I'm dying in 10 seconds. If i have a pain in my chest, I know I'm dying of a heart attack. I'll get panicked, start shaking, heart racing and skipping beats, get really light headed. But sometimes, its more of a low-grade worry. Just, always thinking "Oh god, I prolly have cancer right now. I'm prolly going to die today. What will my friends do? Who will take care of my animals?" Then I'll start picturing my funeral, which makes me more nervous, and it really start spinning out of control until I force myself to snap out of it and get my mind busy on something else.

chirstine listen to sue....she speaks the truth. I feel the exact same things she is saying and its hypochondria for sure. Which means to worry excessively about ones health.
I have a terrible cold right now and everyday I think I should go to the doctor this just has to be something worse than a cold.
If I feel dizzy I think oh my gosh its high blood pressure and stroke. I catastrophize these sensations into larger problems which make my anxiety go into full swing.
You will be ok.....its just feelings of course they can scare us but thats all they can do.
WE are stronger than these thoughts.

Is there a forum for this? Today I have a brain tumor because my finger is sensitive to cold water. One of them hurts when cold water touches it and now of course my foot is getting numbish. Of course it is a brain tumor.

I am soooooooooooo fed up of thinking this way. It is scaring me and making me so sick.

christinepsc,
It's hypochondria, not pure O-OCD. I took worry about my health. My good friends he had OCD thoughts like seeing a sharp object worrying he was going to stab someone.

I too have the constant, intruding thoughts of cancer, heart attack, etc. Every twinge is cancer, every lump and bump is a terminal illness. It is not a fun way to live. I don't think it is pure O, but my therapist has said it has some OCD features in that we replay it over and over in our heads unctonrollably.
This is the perfect site for this because most people on here know how you feel. You have to try to keep telling yourself that not everything is cancer, 99% of our discomforts are normal, or anxiety, or both. That is easier said than done I know, but it is the truth.
Take care, and pm anytime you want to chat as I do the same things you all do!!!
Hugs, Tara
