Recently I gave up coffee and I have not missed it.
But my situation was a bit different than some of yours.
I was ONLY drinking coffee in the morning time and I
was ONLY drinking no more than 16 ounces. I always
purchased the very strongest blend at my local grocery store.
I DID use flavored creamer in my very strong coffee.
Also, I have stomach and colon issues, so giving up
the coffee was a good idea because of those reasons too.
Actually the coffee WOULD give me a stomach ache,
but I drank it anyhow. I liked the taste of the coffee.
But mostly it was part of my morning "routine".
I have not had coffee in almost two weeks and I am
not going back to drinking it. I am not going to replace
regular coffee with decaf either. I am not even going
to drink herbal tea. And sodas have caffeine and sugar
and juices are just pure sugar. I think, for now, I will
stick with just drinking water. That sounds boring,
but I am going to give it a try.
I saw a Nutritionist recently and this is what she said.
She said that we need to drink 1/2 half of our body
weight in "ounces" when we drink water.
This means if a person weighs 200 pounds, that they
should really drink 100 ounces of water a day !
When she said this I was quite shocked. I usually drink
about 48 ounces of water a day. I am trying to increase
that amount to 64 ounces right now. And hopefully
I can make it up to 80 ounces a day. 80 ounces a day
would be the equivalent of 5 bottles of water a day.
I live in Arizona, so it wouldn't hurt to be hydrated
anyway !
Wish me luck !
