Stress Center Peer Support

Hello all,
I am a 43 year old male that have been dealing with depression and axiety for atleast the last for years. I was involved in two car accidents in August of this year and I am having a hard time with the pain. My first accident I ran my truck off the road and into a tree. I don't know what cause the accident but I was charged with DUI. My test results came back negative and I am going to court tomorrow for that accident. See, I haven't drank or did any drugs for 15 years. Thats why this experience is very difficult to handle. I suffered a severe concusion with abnesia. I never received any medical attention after that accident. I then was involved in a second accident 5 days later where my uncle who was with me was killed and I don't remember the whole week due to the abnesia. I am dealing with alot and I hope I hear other peoples stories about there life experiences and be able to learn from them and hope I can help somebody out also. would love to hear from someone and withh be on-line alot due to me being home with a TBI. I will be out of work for awhile so hope to here from ya. Happy Holidays all!!

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your uncle and your accidents. I can't tell you what happened...only offer my support to you. You have been through so much .... no wonder you are experiencing anxiety and depression. Keep moving forward and working on your symptoms, things will fall into place. Have you been examined by a doctor, perhaps a neurologist? At the very least get a scan and see if there is something going on which might cause these blackouts? Maybe something vascular? You owe it to yourself to get a full workup...take care.

I am also sorry to hear about all your losses. I hope that you have started the program and are finding that it is helpful. I would highly suggest that you go and see a physician. Well, know that you have a great support group here. We all have different stories to tell of how we got to the anxiety and depression but we all experience a lot of the same issues. I am so sorry hear about your accidents the lost of your uncle. My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Please see the Dr. about the paina nd blackouts or temporary lost of conscienceness you are expereiencing. This could be a sign of something more. I beleive all will work out for you in court, the test results were negative and you haven't had a drink, so that charge will not go through, but you definitley need medical attention. I am glad to see that you have the taken the necessary steps to your recovery as we all have done by joining the program. I have only been in the program a couple of weeks and have been online chat. there are very nice people who understands the challenges we face. Be encouraged and take care of yourself.
