I am going to my first counseling appointment today. Kind of scared but, have to go. My Mom and Dad died of Cancer within two years of each other. I have been going through two years of hell. I started getting panic attacks and I am so depressed. I am not myself. MY father just passed on Sept. 3 2008. I am trying to work and can't cocentrate. I can't deal with life. It is really hard for me . and I am suffering from fibromyalgia. I just want to find myself again.

We are here for you! My prayer is that you will be comforted through your grieving process, and find the strength to go on. It's ok to grieve. Your lost is real. One day you will find the strength to move forward. It sounds like you made a good first step with counseling.Be gentle with yourself, and priase yourself for even baby steps.

My heart goes out to you. I've been there. Lost both parents within a nine month time. If you can find books written for those of us who are adult orphans, they are helpful. Hospice grief counselors are also very helpful, and they can offer you free information and book recommendations. Many also offer free group meetings for people grieving like yourself. I wish you strength and hope you find help with your new counseling assistance.
A book that helped:
