Does anyone know why anxiety and depression seem to be so closely linked? I've been anxious most of my life, but recently identified some depressive feelings. In reading <A HREF="

Hi John,
Some of the SSRI's are also used to treat anxiety so they would work on both anxiety and depression. Talk with your doctor about the one he/she recommends to combat both. I know it is easier to just take one pill if it helps both. If I am not mistaken Lexapro works for both if you can tolerate it. Good luck.

Hi John,
I am taking Lexapro for both. My depression was worse than my anxiety at the time I started taking it, but I think my depression had gotten so bad because of all the years of anxiety built up in me - does that make sense? Anyway, I started out on 10 mg and had to move up to 20 mg within a month, but it has done wonders for me!!! I feel normal again. I had a hard few months in the beginning, but I am so glad I stuck it out on the Lexapro!
