I was just wondering, I know Lucinda says to write down your negative thoughts, but what if it's the same thoughts, like do i write them down repetitively, even though just a like a half hour later i have the same thought. And another thing, what if the thought is long and like a paragraph long, what do you do then?

Writing down the thought, no matter how long it is,can be very cathartic, however, if the thought is the same then I would only write it down once and review it if necessary. Remember the point is to make the connection to what is really bothering you not to etch the negative thoughts in stone.

I learned in cbt that you need to not only write down the upsetting thoughts but also identify the thinking errors contained in the thoughts and counter them. I use the TEA form method of thought correction from the cbt book by Sam Obitz and they have worked wonderfully for me and they are quick and easy to do.
