Two months

Post by LyndaLu » Fri Mar 23, 2012 12:43 am

It has taken me two months to go from Session One through Session Four !
I hope I make it to the last session before the end of this year  .
Anyone else out there moving at a snails pace ? I am also reading Lucinda's
book FROM PANIC TO POWER. I am going to start Session Five tomorrow
and finish reading the book. Going to try to read the Sam Obitz book next.
I am trying to keep my mind busy and on track, even though my concentration
has been way down lately. I have been doing okay on the the workbook and
the reading and listening to the CD's ( even the relaxation CD )
but terrible on the eating and the exercise :? . Well, that's all
I have to write about for now. Lynda :)

Hi Lynda!

I have been through the program about three times, usually at a slower pace, then I used a mid-west center coach the last time and went at a more diligent speed. :) But I really don't think it matters how fast you are going as long as you are working on your skills!

That's great that you are sticking to it and doing the lessons! The relaxation tape is so key - don't give up on that. :) As for exercising and diet, start at small levels and work your way up! That's a great way to get started. Set small goals for yourself, ones that are easier to reach, and it will help you!

Blessings!!

I am still "starting" on Session Five. I am sort of in a lull right now.
I had relatives visting this past week and I was helping my mom out too,
so I have not been working on the program this past week. I agree that
the relaxation CD is really a necessary part of the program, it helps
you to slow down and take a deep breath. I also have a yoga type
CD that I sometimes listen to ( on my headphones) when I go to
bed at night, that is relaxing because you do not really have to think
or DO anything while that CD is playing.

I don't think I did very well
using my newly learned skills while my relatives were visiting, but
maybe I did better than I thought I did. I still complained about my
physical aches and pains that I have. And I complained about driving
my mom's big car to and from the airport to pick up my relatives
at the airport ( I hate that big car, but it is the only car that will
hold two kids and two adults in it ). And the drive to the airport is
one hour ! Being around two busy little kids ( my two great-nieces )
was a bit exhausting, but also new and interesting. The weather was
very hot and the heat really doesn't agree with me ( I live in Arizona ! ).

Well, that week is over now and it is time to move on to another week
and not look back.

I am trying to stick with going through the tapes one a week - this time around. I am now on 4, but feel that I still have a long ways to go with the negative thinking in 3. I am sure there will be times when something comes up and I won't be able to follow my schedule. I think the thing is to just keep doing it and not give up. If you have to stop for a reason, continue to practice with the session you have already gone through. Remember, life isn't perfect (althought most of us would love for it to be!).
Congrats on the driving. While I enjoy to drive on the whole, I do have a fear of going through big cities and getting hopelessly lost (missing an exit, taking a wrong exit, etc.) and never being able to find my way back! I don't really understand where this irrational fear comes from! :?

I have been unemployed for three years and since that has happened I have become
more and more agoraphobic, not wanting to leave my apartment because of anxiety.
I had no problem with driving, really, until I became unemployed and I am at home
so much of the time. I don't like to really drive at night now. I don't mind driving my
own vehicle, but I am not an confident as I would want to be.

I am working on Session Five right now and today was a day of progress because I
listened to the Session Five CD, I listened to the relaxation CD, I did my journal, and
I went for a 15 minute walk outside. I don't drink coffee anymore and I am giving
up sugar. I am sure that sugar is in almost every food we eat, but I will
try to read the ingredients on the food that I buy to keep track of the sugar content.
I will try to control my portions. I know that I can control the food. The exercise
part will be harder to do for me.

That is all for now.
