This is something I have a lot of trouble
with. When the negative thoughts start, they
become a wrecking ball in my mind.

Normally I find something to do to distract
myself. Ride my bike, put a cd on, play video
games,etc.

I have the same wrecking ball effect with my negative thoughts. They start in the morning as soon as I wake up and they come at me so fast it's hard to get the stop sign up to transpose my negative into a positive. Mostly I watch tv to distract myself from what I'm thinking. I am amazed to find out how much negative thinking I really have going on inside of my head. They seem to be repeating themselves throughout my day so tackling them when they fist come is my goal. I want to be a better person and I believe this program will help me get there. I have to keep reminding myself of all the blessings I have in my life to jump start my postive thinking but I hope with practice and patience I will be able to conquer this frustrating problem.

Hang in there folks. Nothing worthwhile comes easy.

I have the same issues, starts just after I wake and revs up as I start thinking. I've been using the spiral notebook process and can't believe how many negative thoughts I have. Writing them down as an observer seems to distance me from them a bit. I've been coming up with some positive replacements which helps and everytime I start getting twitchy, I get the notebook out and go through it, finding the same negative thoughts keep popping up. Like a pattern. And that's the pattern I'm going to break!

I don't know if this helps you but it is sure helping me. Do I still get twitchy? You bet but when I compare myself to three weeks ago, I've come a long way. I'm sure it will happen to you, too.

Take care and be kind to yourselves.
