What if symptoms are real health issue?

Post by Jb48 » Tue Jul 12, 2011 1:13 am

I have been using the steps to stop panic attacks and they have world for me this far. I still have the body sensations but I just "float" through it. However I keep having this feeling in the back of my head that if I am having a health issue like heart attack or stroke, I will think it is anxiety and try to "float" through it rather than seek medical help. Has anyone else had these thoughts? How do you rationalize them?

I know it's an anxiety disorder and I use the strategies from the program to deal with the symptoms. I was just curious how people differentiate these symptoms from the symptoms of something else. Thanks for all the responses
