Recently I wrote about a topic re: my blood sugars and me having blood tests end of May to confirm I am not diabetic. Even though the blood tests came back negative for anything I am still scared of my blood sugar levels that I cannot function at all. Thursday I started not feeling well so Friday morning I had just a sip of orange juice and a bite of chili from the night before. About 30 minutes later I checked my blood sugar because it was bothering me that it could be the problem and it was at 111. I started to freak because it was that high I did not think it could get that high with just a sip of orange juice and a bite of food. I am so scared to eat that after I do I feel weird and I don't know if I am just doing it to myself because that is all I think about. I have not been feeling well (tired, upset tummy and my face gets hot) I think it may be stress. Everybody keeps telling me I am ok but I don't feel like it. Can anyone help because this is the worst I have ever been and I feel like I am never going to go crazy!?!

This probably won't alleviate your fear,
but I assure you that a blood sugar count of 111 is just fine. I do wish that I could keep mine there.
I have diabetes. It is not something that one has to worry about all the time. But I am sure that you know that. You just can't help worrying.
I've had diabetes for 16 years. It hasn't changed my life that much. Oh , the blood sugar jumps up there once in awhile. When I say jumps up, I'm talking about over 200. Or more. My granddaughter in-law has type 1 diabetes and takes insulin. She had a baby August the 10, cecerean. She is doing just fine.
Diabetes isn't a death sentence. You just make a few allowances. A few adjustments.
But your blood sugar is so normal.
I wish I could do something to calm your fears.
Good luck.

HI
I CAN RELATE TO WHAT YOU ARE FEELING I HAD A TEST DONE TO CHECK MY SUGARS AND IT CAME BACK THAT I HAD TYPE 2 AND THATS WHEN MY ATTACKS STARTED I FELT THAT IF I WENT TO SLEEP MY SUGAR LEVEL WOULD DROP AND I WOULD DIE . SO I KEPT WAKING MY SELF UP EVERY 2 HRS OR SO TO CHECK MY BLOOD THE MORE I TOOK IT THE WORSE I GOT.AND IT TOO WOULD BE LIKE 86 AND I WOULD PANICK TAKE GLOUCOSE TABS AND THE IT WOULD RIASE IT TO 160 OR SO .I TOOK ANOTHER BLOOD TEST WITH DR AND SHE TOLD ME I HAVE PRE DIABETES.SO I DONT KNOW WHAT TO THINK. I KNOW THAT WHEN YOU EAT SOMETHING YOUR SUGARS DO GO UP BUT MY DOC TOLD ME THAT THE KEY IS 2HRS AFTER YOU EAT IF YOUR SUGAR LEVEL IS ABOVE 180 THEN WORRY BUT ANYTHING LOWER THEN THAT IS FINE. ALSO YOUR FASTING BLOOD SUGAR THATS WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORN IS 130 THATS WHEN YOU WANT TO TAKE NOTICE. SO HOPEFULY THIS MIGHT HELP YOU TO EASE YOUR MIND I ALSO KNOW THAT WHEN I WORRY MY SUGAR LEVEL RISES. LIKE WHEN I HAVE AN PANICK ATTACK. SO HANG IN THERE YOU WILL BE FINE. TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS. Hi, I also have Diabetes, I have type 1. I have to take insulin shots to keep my blood sugar under control. 111 is a perfect number, I wish I had that all the time. I am more afraid of the high blood sugars than the lows. With the high blood sugars sometimes it will not come down and I usually feel that I am more anxious, I get tired very easily, and my heart beats slightly faster. This sometimes sets up a panic attack, though it has not done so in a while.
With a low blood sugar I feel like all I have to do is take sugar in and I will be fine, so those do not really scare me as much. When I have low blood sugar in the middle of the night I am usually automatically awakened, which I find amazing. I am amazed my body does that, it automatically wakes me up so that I check myself and eat something. What am I coming to? You have nothing to fear Rosaslie. I am sure like all of us we get scared of things we are aware we should not be scared of, but I hope what I have written has given you a little peace of mind.
