Does anyone ever feel really sick during panic attacks? I know the feeling goes away but I get that over whelming sick feeling. It goes away but I get headaches and exhausted after and don't feel good for the rest of the day. Can anyone relate and if so can you give any advice?

That is the same kind of feelings I have and they can last days sometimes. The headaches are mostly around my temples and sometimes I feel pressure in my head and face. I just opened the box with the program and hoping for help there.Dave Lindeman

Wow, do I relate to the panic attacks. For a year and a half, I woke up to these attacks, rapid heart beat, and high blood pressure. It would wipe me out for the rest of the day. After all this time, my psychiatrist finally referred me to a cardiologist, who put me on a beta blocker and blood pressure medicine. The mornings are much better now, although I still do get the panic attacks. But at least I can function and, through therapy, I am learning to deal with the attacks the rest of the day.

Exact same feelings. After a panic attack I get these bad tension headaches around the front of my head and around my eyes. I am also really tired and lethargic. Its probably from being so tense from all the adrenaline in my system that afterward we are all physically and mentally exhausted.

guys, just joined this to write this message....i had a panic attack today after lunch which was pretty bad but went away after 10-15 mins but left me feeling exhausted to the point i couldnt even keep my eyes open. So i went down and got some cookies, after a little sugar in my , i felt like my energy level was back to normal so it might be just as easy as getting some sugar or food.

I feel really exhausted after panic attacks as well. I went to counseling at one time and he told me even if you don't feel like it..do something. Don't just sit around and think, get busy doing the dishes or call a friend. It's some of the best advice I've ever had!

hi rosalie... yes, i too have felt sick (nauseas, queasy stomach, extremely exhausted, lightheaded, etc.) after having a panic attack. just recently, i suffered from a panic attack on the train on my commute to work for 3 consecutive days and then again another day while at work sitting at my desk. what has been working for me since starting the program is that as soon as i feel a panic attack coming on, to start (IMMEDIATELY) deep, slow and controlled abdominal breathing as lucinda instructs in the relaxation cd/tape. since listening to the relaxation cd, i haven't had one panic attack. once i start the guided breathing technique, it settles me down within just a matter of mere seconds. try it... it will help..
