Hi everyone,
Tomorrow I decided to face one of my biggest fears and go ahead and try to get my driver's license. I am currently 22 years old and have never gotten my license due to panicking every time I would just sit behind the steering wheel. A lot of bad things have gone on lately, but in a way it kinda elevated me to do more for myself. Lately I've been forcing myself to drive no matter how scared I am (with my permit of course...ha). So I decided to take it a step further and shoot for my license tomorrow morning. I am very scared to be honest, but I refuse to turn back. Hope the best for me friends, I'll let everyone know how it went when I return.
Peace & Love

Hi Dustin,
Good luck on your driving test.
I hope you spend a lot of time listening to your relaxation tape and practice you breathing techniques as you prepare for your test, and prior to actually taking the test.
Keep telling yourself: I can do this, I can do all that I want to do. I want to do this. I want to enjoy the sense of freedom that driving a car can give me. I can do it! I will do this!!
Take care,
Gman

Well I didn't manage to get to sleep until 3AM because I was so nervous about taking the test. I forced myself to go but I must say sitting in the waiting room there I was tempted to convince my mom (that brought me) to just take us back home. I was freaking out pretty badly on the inside, but I forced myself through it. To be honest, there wasn't a thing I could think of to comfort me whatsoever, but I did it anyways.
The lady I took the test with, well to be quite blunt she was being what one what call the "b-word". I was already panicking as it was and at one point she told me to get in the left lane but being that I was already in non-reality mode I could hardly comprehend what she was saying. Then with an attitude she said, "This isn't the left lane now is it?". Right then and there I thought I was going to lose it. I came so close to screaming at her and just stepping out of the car and letting her take over. Somehow I maintained my state of "composure" and finished the test. After all the trouble and panicking I actually managed to pass the test. I did what I never thought I could have done in a million years.
I Dustin Boudreaux have conquered one of my biggest fears. I am proud of myself. :u]
Thanks, you guys are always so great!

Dustin good for you - you did it!
When I took my test, the lady who was also not very kind told me to go to the end of the driveway and turn XX. I got to the end and was nervous and couldn't remember which way she said to turn. She said "do your blinkers work?" I said "yes." She replies "well use them!"
This is just another step you are taking to freedom, we are all very proud of you!

Congratulations!
My instructor was also...not the friendliest...and had a terrible reputation. I was so nervous I messed up a few times too. Eventually I learned to just laughed off her sarcastic remarks.
Glad you didn't back down and made it through.
