This week's "action steps" I'm finding are very difficult for me to do and I'm wondering if anyone has this probelm too. The first is to get up fifteen minutes before everyone usually gets up so as to have some quiet private time to myself--the second is to put up a collage of
refreshing messages and gaze at it for fifteen minutes or so. I'm avoiding doing this in every way--I can't bring myself to even want to do this. I have the collage up and every morning i stare at it but now it's just a reminder of me not doing one of this week's objectives--what's wrong with me??--anyone else do this ???

There is nothing wrong with you. You just need to ask yourself What's important to you? Do you want to get better? This is what I do in order to do what I need to get to done. I pray. I ask God Jehovah to help me to get where I need to go. I know he is listening and will help me. All I have to do is ask. God Jehovah will help you get to where you need to be. All you to do is ask. Before too long you'll be able to do these action steps the way you feel they need to be done. The program is a good way to help with your stress and anxiety. But God Jehovah is always there if you need a shoulder.

Have you tried not only looking at it but reading it to yourself using strong emotion? Emotion gets the ball rolling and nudges your thinking otherwise they are just words. I look at the affermation close my eyes and say it to myself inside my head or even outloud using strong emotion. this helps, please let me know if this work for you.

Thank you for the wake-up call zizzer--it was what i needed to ask myself --what is important to me? Do i want to dedicate 15 minutes to doing an action step that might actually make me feel better or do i just want to run away from it and keep doing the same things over and over again. I have tried meditating on the phrases which, when i let it into my consciousness really fills me hope and love bc they are spiritual messages. Thank you both for responding --I've had anxiety for about 8 years now and some depression as a result of it so it's nice to finally speak about it. God bless you both for your advice.

Hello Maria and everyone. I have resisted this getting up earlier in the am to do a morning meditation. I am not a morning person. I hit the snooze alarm and get out the last possible minute.
Well I decided last week I was going to try this. I set the alarm a little eariler allow myself the first snooze time of ten minutes and then wehn the clock goes off, I begin my meditation and breathing exercises.
I can honestly say i don't know why I was so resistant to doing it other than I hate getting up early. I have found myself in a better frame of mind and more relxed. I can handle the chaos in my morning getting three boys off the school.
Just try and give it a chance you'll be surprised at how good you feel after a few mornings.
I found a great verse to begin the day from the Power of positive thinking by Dr Norman vinvent peale.
I believe today is ging to be a wonderful day. I belive I can successfully handle all things which will arise today. I am strong physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It is wonderful to be alive. I am gratefulf for all I have had, all that I have now and all i will ever have. Things aren't going to fall apart. for God is here and He is with me. God will see me through. I thank God for all good things.
I hope this may help. Keep up the good work. Take care and God Bless.

Well when we avoid things we've actually associate pain with these things. What is the first thing you think of when you think about relaxing? What things do you lose when you use the relaxation cd? Or that collage?

Thanks for all the wonderful advice. I'm going to get up a little earlier and meditate for 15-20 minutes or so and then I'm going to start my day with that positive message that bna outlined for me. I'm even looking forward to it because I think it might be exactly what's missing from my life--some grounding. Hope it works--thanks to all for the help

God bless you all. Hope to speak to you again.
