I am doing session 2 and it says that we have heart papiltations when we are experiencing a panic attack. This is true for me but does anyone have them periodically throughout the day? For example, getting home from work and sitting down to relax? I will feel like one or two. This happens almost everyday. I do my self talk so that helps but just curious if anyone gets them the way I do?

I have them like that sometimes. They usually go away as fast as they came. I used to worry about them but I have read that is a common thing to happen to people like us.

I had some heart flutters the week before my menses. I couldn't figure it out because I wasn't feeling anxious at the time, but I was starting to get worried. Well, once my menses started the fluttering stopped so now I can add it to my list of pms symptoms.

Hi,
Same for me, I have them when I have pms. I actually started writing down when I had them to see if I could find a pattern and that's when I noticed the connection to pms.

I have heart palpitations as well, occasionally. I have had several EKG's, heart monitors worn, and even an echo cardiagram and my heart is fine. When the sympatic nervous system is in over drive for people with anxiety this unfortunate side effect can happen. Currently I'm taking atenonol for my heart palpitations. This drug is usually used for people with heart arrymthmias or high blood pressure. I like taking it because it stops them from happening. When they do happen they scare me so badly because it feels like my heart is jumping out of my chest. Make sure you cut down on sugary things and caffeine this will cause them even more so.

by stop the anxiety!!
Are they dangerous? I was just sitting down to watch tv and I had a flutter of two or three. It could be because I had a bite of chocolate today. I haven't had much sugar or caffeine in awhile. thanks

I have had these as well. Mine never started until after I started getting panic attacks.
For some reason after I get this feeling a I burp.
I have been at the hospital on a heart monitor when on came on and it didn't show on the screen.
Does this mean it isn't heart related? That instead it could be esophical spasms or something?
I have had 10+ EKGs, been hooked up to heart monitors.
Did any of you burp and feel better? or purp right after the flutters?
I have also held my hand over my pulse neck area while having one of these flutters and it doesn't seem that my pulse changes. It should change if it is the heart.

Hi Beth, with the burping is sounds like it may be related to GERD or hiatal hernia. I found out earlier this year that I have a hiatal hernia and often after I eat - sometimes two hours later - I get bloating and burping and the heart palps start. I know they are related with me. Hope you get to feeling better.
