My 18 year old who just graduated from high school is leaving home, He is moving 2 hours away (in a week) and im having a very hard time dealing with it. My panic attacks have started again (havent had any in years). Im just wondering how the heck im going to deal with not seeing him every day. I know we all have to go through this with our kids but i was just wondering if someone has any advice for getting through this and controlling my anxiety. Im sad but so dang proud of him.

My oldest son left home 3 years ago, and I, too, am very proud of him. My panic attacks started after he left, but I do not believe his leaving was the cause. I have been to several medical and diet specialists with the symptoms that I now understand are panic and anxiety symptoms. I had a late (post 50) diagnosis of ADHD, other dietary and medical problems with hypoglycemia and adrenal imbalance issues, in addition to unexplained panic and anxiety attacks, so now i am happy that I am getting help, support and clarity in the last three weeks with this program after suffering from the embarrassment of dizziness, sweats, disorientation, heart palpitations, depression. Life changes can and must be dealt with as positively as possible, so I went on vacation with my husband and now plan on spending much more time with my second son who is still in high school. My newfound attitude of gratitude helps me appreciate all I have and look forward to overcoming these symptoms. Good luck, happy thoughts, and finally I am learning how to relax!
