Miami the end of your note cracked me up. I am not bi-polar and feel for ya. My understanding is that bi-polar is the anxiety disorder that is hardest to deal with without meds. Take care and thanks for making me smile!

JR5 I have not played with the wrist counters too much yet but do have a counter on my watch so I will give it more of a try, thanks. TEA forms work great for me and seem to sink even further into my psyche as I continue to use them and I was told that's important samcat. It is an interesting journe...

Karen I can totally relate to what you shared as well thanks! Who would have ever thought all those thinking patterns would be ingrained in us too? I never imagined that was what was holding me back! Give the TEA forms a try they have helped turn my thinking around and are pretty easy once you catch...

I'll read any book that talks about a dysfunctional upbringing because I think that's where ALL my anxiety came from. My dad's an alcoholic and I thought just getting away from him would make me better. I was wrong because until I read this book and started doing the TEA forms to change all those in...

My dad's an alcoholic and I think a lot of my anxieties came from growing up in a family situation similar to the author so I totally related to what he was saying and the TEA form exercise has been solid gold for me and I still do them several times a week. I'm not a big reader so I also liked the ...

maryk, thx for the additional info. My first answer is yes it is possible, however I think you would be smart to lower your doses extremely slowly and also make sure and counter your thoughts on paper in a TEA form etc everyday for a week or two before you start reducing your meds and continue until...

You are no bother at all  It was the book that has the TEA form exercise in it. Been There, Done That? DO This! By Sam Obitz and Michelle Craske Ph.d. That Ms. T. Bones gave you the website for in the post before mine and that this thread is talking about. The TEA forms are great for helping w...

My understanding is that meds are more like a band aid than a cure. I am med free now but it took a lot of hard work learning coping strategies. I don't think it is a good idea to go off meds without first learning ways to cope with and counter your anxiety producing thoughts.

TNL the TEA forms is a thought countering exercise that reduces anxiety that is in that book. It is not a workbook, more of a intro to cbt book that is short and encouraging. It focuses on a few exercises and keeps things simple. They work really well if you work at them.
