Re: Anxious Spell

Thank you so much for the encouraging words. I am doing better! I think what it comes down to for me is trusting God. I am a very spiritual person, and I know that at the core of my anxiety is my struggle to trust Him. That's why I have such a hard time letting things go. But I have to remember that...

Anxious Spell

I am going through a tiny anxious spell right now, I think it's hormonal and a reaction to my circumstances. I found out my former boyfriend has a new girlfriend, he's away at school so thankfully I don't have to see them, but the anxious, obsessive thoughts have escalated over the last few days sin...

Re: Doubt -> Fear

That's awesome, I need to be reminded of this constantly. I KNOW that a huge part of my anxiety is due to my lack of faith in God. I don't realize His sovereignty, His power, His protection over me enough. Every anxious thought I have can be tied back to me doubting God's power and ability to take c...

Re: Need help, I am ruining my family!

Hi Lisa!! I am so thankful my words were an encouragement to you, I hope you are continuing to do better! How are things going? One of the books about anxiety for kids is titled, "What To Do When You're Scared and Worried," and it's by James J. Crist, Ph.D. It's a simple guide to how to handle anxie...

Re: hypochondria is rearing it's ugly head

Hey there! I have never had the health obsessions but I know that they are the same thing as OCD thoughts - the more you chase them, the worse they get. When I am in an obsessive place, I try to remind myself that: 1. An obsessive, "What if...," OCD thought does NOT have an answer, that is why my br...

Re: Insomnia Racing Thoughts

Hey there! I can totally relate about insomnia and the racing thoughts. But you WILL get through this! You are smart to keep seeking help about it! You are just having a temporary set-back, you will get through it. Insomnia is a common side-affect of anxiety, it's nothing to scare yourself about! :)...

Re: dizziness

Histamines can also cause dizziness. When my histamins are high I break out in hives and feel dizzy, spacey and detached. It only complicates my anxiety. Foods high in histamine contain tomatos (pizza, pasta meals with red sauce), most if not all citrus fruits, bananas, corn products, and wheat. If ...

Re: Need help, I am ruining my family!

Hi Lisa, First of all, you are NOT a bad mother. The fact that you are so concerned about your son only shows what a wonderful, strong, caring mother you are. You are just in a really rough place right now and need to relax. Your thought about your son is irrational, it's classic OCD. I have also be...

Re: Worse in the morning

It's helpful for some people to exercise in the morning. Even if you just get 15 minutes, it WILL help to lift your mood. It especially helps me when I exercise outside in the fresh air.
It's all part of healthy living, and the more good habits you get going, the better you're going to feel. :)

Re: now or never

I'm glad my tips were helpful! My mom went through anxiety and this program years ago, so I have picked up some of what she learned, and we have been working with this nutritionist for some time now. I love to pass on whatever I know to other people, as much as I can! And that's awesome that you wer...
