I take 5mg Ability to "compliment" my 200mg Lamictal for bipolar disorder. I also take .5 mg Xanax up to 4 times per day, and 10mg Zolpidem each night. Ugh...

Hmmm... Help! I've been on Xanax for years. .5mg up to 4 times per day. I frequently take 2 at a time to ward off an anticipated attack or at least take them as soon as I experience one. An attack for me feels like I can't breathe -- can't take a deep breath -- and it feels like I'm hyperventilating...

I'm taking Lamictal -- 200mg/day for bipolar disorder. Actually, I have not complaints about it ... it has really changed my life for the better. Along with Lamictal, I take Xanax (.5mg, 6x/day), Ability (.5mg, 1x/day) and Zolpidem (10mg, 1x/day) ... PLUS lots of vitamins.

I think I'm in an awful cycle ... I've been taking Xanax for years. My present dose is .5 mg per pill, and I'm allowed to take it up to 4 times a day (i.e., every 6 hours). I take it for anxiety attacks brought on by, hell, I don't know!!! Anything can bring on an attack ... mainly experienced when ...

Are you saying (?) that you can get racing heartbeats from the medication?? I get racing heartbeats all the time and just trumped it up to anxiety attacks.
