Republican presidential candidate debate
Rick Santorum was the man, in my opinion. He was the only one that really seemed to understand this anxiety and depression condition and the role it plays in 'the welfare state', etc. He talked about having worked on reforming the welfare programs in the Senate, I believe, and how previously the pro...

Re: HUGE QUESTION PLEASE ANSWER!
I would suggest trying to go through all the material from each session at least twice before you move on (except maybe the DVD on the TV, which I usually only watch once per session), before you move on. Then I normally don't worry about whether I think I 'got' it all or not, because at least I kno...

Back to the drawing board
I played basketball this morning and a guy who has been playing dirty started doing it again. Instead of having a plan to practice being assertive ahead of time and using it, I let it build for awhile and then pushed him aggressively. Of course, just like Lucinda said on the tape he got defensive, s...

Re: SEXUALLY ABUSED
I've never been physically abused but I have been emotionally (probably we all have been). I think it causes to a greater or lesser degree the same thing, which is self-hate. I'm not an expert but I'm thinking thats what is probably behind scary thoughts. What we have to remember is that the self-ha...

Martin Luther probably had anxiety
I watched a program about Martin Luther one time and they said that when he was a kid even his mother beat him until the blood flowed. I guess thats just the way the culture was in that part of Germany in the 16th century, so if that's true it would stand to reason that he would have had a very low ...

I just thought I'd comment that when I read your post, it seemed like you might be over-analyzing the eating thing. I try to just eat things that are as basic and simple and unprocessed as I can find. For instance you can get very low sodium tuna at Walmart. Maybe lowfat or unsalted crackers or some...

Re: Having a drink or two after a workout
Thanks for the tip. I think I'll try more or less quitting at least until I get over this. I think it will especially be a good idea
until I go back to working full time more regularly. At least it will be doing something different than I have been.

Having a drink or two after a workout
I have pretty much always liked working out (basketball, jogging, swimming, weights, hitting a heavy bag, etc). I like having a nice drink or two (JD/coke or whatever) after a good hard workout. I go from feeling all pumped up from the workout to having a really nice relaxed feeling. Then I also sti...

Why do the lights always turn yellow for me
It just dawned on me on the way to church this morning that I'm always looking ahead at the lights at the intersections and if they're green I'm expecting them (there's that word again) to turn yellow just as I approach the intersection. Then when they do happen to turn yellow I'm like see there I w...

Re: Im getting desparate
As I understand the comments in the program about why the panic and anxiety get worse sometimes as we go through it is because for the first time we are giving ourselves permission to be anxious. In other words we don't just keep running from it. It shows we are becoming more knowledgeable about the...
