Re: You Know You Have Panic Disorder When...

So funny...I can relate to almost all of these. Especially the "milk" one. I've actually been getting anxious the last few days because I know I have to go grocery shopping today. This really puts it in perspective and made me feel better about it.

Re: Can't get myself to drive! Anyone else?

Such a common problem for those of us working on our anxiety. The last year has been really hard for me with driving. Before I started this program, I had to have someone drive me mostly or be with me. I missed so much work, it was awful. I now do okay with driving, but still find myself avoiding th...

Re: Quitting Buspar

The Buspar took about a month to really start working and then it worked really well, so that wasn't the issue. I just hated the tired feeling, especially in the morning, and it was tearing up my stomach. Lots of throwing up and just general stomach pain and interruption with my digestion. All that ...

Re: Major issue!!

Oh my goodness...what a monumental thing to go through right now. I see you posted this almost a month ago, but hope your doing better now. Obviously this relationship was hurting you, not helping you and that you knew that deep down. I'm not saying your ex-girlfriend is a bad person, just maybe not...

Re: Exercise = emotional release

Suggy, Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone. :) I've been slaking off a little on the everyday exercise and need to find what will REALLY motivate me. I'm trying to work past the fear and push ahead but it is so hard. ARGH! Thanks for the offer of e-mailing. I'm sure I'll be taking you up on tha...

Re: This is going to be a challenge -

S, Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. A few things have come up this last week that let me use my new assertiveness skill and I felt so great afterwards. It feels really akward to do it, but I'll keep with it. I know that sometimes I'll do okay and sometimes not, but will be kind to m...

Re: Cant talk about feelings!!

I know that for me, the reason it's so hard to talk to most people about my anxiet or what I am feeling is that it makes me feel very, very vulnerable. Part of getting over that is not worrying about what other people think of me. I know....I know...so hard to do!!! All I can say is that the more I ...

Re: Quitting Buspar

Update....I'm now taking 6 weeks to wean off the meds, with 2 weeks between each step down on amounts. This is what my therapist (person who prescribed it) said to do. I guess that will almost eliminate the side effects of quitting. Doing okay, I'm feeling the nervous stomach, general anxiety a bit ...

Re: Bloat, gas, heartburn & gurgling

How awful for you! I too have had a lot of digestive system issues my whole life. I went to see a nutritional therapist and did lots of research on my own. Gas, belching, bloating and pain in stomach can all be indicators that you're not digesting your food properly....very slowly, or not at all. I ...

Quitting Buspar

So today is my first day of tapering off Buspirone (Buspar). I have been taking 20mg/day in four doses for 2 months. I am really scared of the side effects of coming off the drug...even though I'm doing it slowly which I know will help. My Doctor told me to reduce 5mg per week until I'm done. She al...
