Re: WHEN WILL THEY STOP?!!!

Thank you for taking the time to write out what is clearly a well-thought-out response, and one into which you clearly put some time. I appreciate it. I've never been able to tell the difference between "exposure" and a full-fledged panic attack. To me, they are exactly the same. I am completely una...

WHEN WILL THEY STOP?!!!

I have wasted SO MUCH time, energy, and money trying to get rid of these stupid panic attacks. I've had them for 32 years now, and I'm so damn tired of them!!!! EVERY time I go ANYWHERE to try to get help for my panic attacks (including here) I get the same old "you must go out and experience your p...

I'm stuck here...

So can someone please explain to me how, exactly, I'm supposed to get over my panic attacks by going out and experiencing MORE of them?! If experiencing more panic attacks was the cure for panic attacks, then this would be a self-curing disease, wouldn't it?! I mean, you'd start to have panic attack...

Re: I interrupted a panic attack today. :)

Congratulations! That's something I wish I could do... Without using Xanax, I mean. :-) I can't seem to stop a panic-attack unless I pop a pill. That's why I'm going through this program!

Thanks for posting this. It's given me a little hope. Thanks.

Re: Separating "before" and "during" a panic attack...

Well, as long as it's not critical that I identify the "before" and keep it separate from the "during"... I was worried that it was going to be a requirement, and I've never been able to do that... They just jump from 0 to 10 too quickly -- or at least, they seem to...

Re: 'What if' thoughts...

I say to ask yourself, "What if it is just a panic attack?" Now, THAT'S something that never occurred to me -- good one, that. I'll give that one a try... The last 9001 panic attacks you've had haven't been the real deal, so the likelihood of this being the same thing it's been each of the 9001 tim...

Separating "before" and "during" a panic attack...

In the workbook for session two, it asks a couple of questions -- one dealing with what you feel "before" a panic attack, and another question dealing with what you feel "during" a panic attack... Honestly, I can't differentiate the "before" from the "during" - I go from no panic to 100% panic way t...

'What if' thoughts...

In session 2, Lucinda mentions some of the 'what if' thoughts that occur to most of us when we're having (or about to have) a panic attack... There's one that occurrs to me all the time, which I've never heard anyone else mention: "What if this time it's NOT 'just' a panic attack? What if this time ...

Re: Morning Anxiety

I've always been a "night-owl." At night, I feel calm (or at least calmER than I do during the day). The mornings are HORRIBLE for me... At night, I can almost feel normal, like this whole panic and anxiety thing is unimportant and not really an issue -- then the next morning, it starts all over aga...

LOL. So now I have to go check out my copy of the Session 1 DVD and count the number of times she says "medication." Sheesh... :-)
