Re: Considering prozac
This is my second time on Prozac- my first was in 1999 when I took it for a year or so. Now I'm back on it again, but at a lesser dose. I take 10 mg/day and have had no side effects (except for being a little sleepy, so I take it at night).

Re: Purpose
I'm not "passionate" about much either- have little things I enjoy doing, but that's all. SO.... I'm going to get involved. The off-leash dog park I walk my dog at daily is in need of volunteer work. I'm going to call them right now. I'm going to give back. I may not be "passionate" about this too, ...

Re: Your Not Alone
Amazing video from the Don't Quit poem! I loved it. I love smiling- forgotten how little I smiled. I feel peaceful- not all the time- there are still days I struggle, but nothing is as important as it seems (responding to that work email, setting up the birthday party, etc). My therapist describes m...

Re: Making others feel bad.
I completely understand this. Just 15 minutes ago I asserted myself with a staff member who is in a supervisory role for our Dept. Now I have a nagging fear that she will rebuff any assistance I ask from her in the future. Completely unprofessional of her and I don't REALLY think she will, but....

Re: Starting today
You can do it~ all of you can! I'm SO HAPPY I asserted myself today! A friend of mine has changed the time/day of a camping trip twice now, and when she went to change it again I let her know that her plan would not work for me, and politely told her what day/time would. The old me would have sucked...

Re: Being less affected
We're leaving on Friday for an extended weekend and if it rains, so be it! We'll be together & making memories and that's what matters. I feel so good today. This is the first Monday in a long, LONG time that my anxiety has been absent. I know I'm not "cured", but I feel a sense of freedom that is s...

Re: Being less affected
So this morning I had a talk with my husband about our upcoming mini road-trip/vacation & I was unhappy about how the weather is likely to be rainy across the state. I got in the car and popped this week's CD into the player and burst out laughing that in the first 5 minutes she talked about exactly...

Re: Prozac and heart beat
I have been on prozac for well over six months. It's my second time on it and it has always worked well for me. I've never had any side effects, except for some very mild stomach upset which is no big deal at all. I'm grateful for the medication.

Re: What do you do for a living?
My job is about 95% of my anxiety- I work in the child abuse/neglect prevention field. People say "just quit" but it's not that easy. I'm trying absolutely EVERY avenue I can to make myself healthy enough to tough out this rewarding job.
