Re: First time post- Overthinking/Racing Thoughts

Hi Zach! First off, do you have the Attacking Anxiety program? One of the lessons goes over obsessive thinking. I think you would find the program very helpful for targeting your anxiety from multiple angles. Obsessive thinking is a normal part of anxiety. Usually the thoughts center around somethin...

Re: Marriage Concern

Hi jkick, I've never been married, so I can't imagine what you're going through. It sounds like you and your wife are working things out though. That's good that she has taken the steps necessary to block that guy from ever contacting her again. You should be proud of yourself for trying to work thi...

Re: flood of strange thoughts

Hey Mack, You're doing the right thing by allowing the thoughts to be there. It sounds like your brain is "rebelling" against your attempt to break your habit. We definitely can't overstate the fact that obsessive thinking is a bad habit, and just like any habit, your brain wants to stick with it be...

Growth Spurt

I've been going through a minor growth spurt I think, I am college-age and feel like my life has been in transition for the last four years. I am finishing my degree and feel good about my life, but I have slipped back into some bad habits lately, like going to bed really late, negative thoughts, ov...

Re: need someone to talk to!

Hi there, Maybe it would be helpful for you to have your husband listen to some of the program, so that he can know what you are going through. This could be something that will bring the two of you closer, if you both allow it to be. Express to him what you're feeling and tell him that you ARE gett...

Re: no desire to live, but fear of death

Hi Chelsee, I know you already know this, but what's most important for you right now is to stick with the program! Keep plugging through, even when things are at their worse. You need to be practicing the positive dialogue session of the program. Listen to what the people in the lessons are saying....

Re: Need help replacing the thoughts where I check how I fee

Alden, I think what is important is to recognize that the thoughts are just a symptom of anxiety, to tell yourself that the more you don't respond to these thoughts, the more you will be able to dismiss them right away and they won't keep coming back. These obsessive thoughts are just a symptom of a...

Re: angels and demons

Hi there, I too have struggled with this scary thought in the past. On the obsessive thinking tape with the program (at least the version I have), Lucinda and the participants talk about having this same scary thought. It's not reality. You need to tell yourself that this thought is just another sym...

Re: Constant ruminating panic obsessed with suicide fear HEL

Hi Josh! I have had insomnia at different points in my life, and the last bout was when my anxiety was at it's worst. It was really rough for me, but I now sleep through the night!! Some things that have helped me: 1. Exercise during the day - helps you to be tired at night! Don't do it within three...
