Re: Going through the program a 2nd time

Hi Chris! Thank you so much for your feedback. I'm so sorry your lost your brother last year as well. My brother was 45. Entirely way too young. I think I spent so much time trying to convince myself and the world that I was okay with what happened that I just bottled everything up and it sat and in...

Re: can't break out of this hole!!!

Oh boy, I've been there! Even when starting the program I felt worse for what I thought was forever. My thoughts circled a lot and I felt like a dog chasing his tail. I'd have a good day or two, then spiral for a week then back. If I got a new symptom or one of my usual ones got scarier, I'd obsess ...

Re: Agoraphobia

I was pretty agoraphobic before I started the program the first time 9 years ago. I could drag myself to work only because we desperately needed the money and it was only 10 minutes away from home and I hid behind a desk all day and was the only employee so it was pretty much being home) and to my p...

Re: Going through the program a 2nd time

Thank you for your reply. I'm happy to see I'm not the only one going through it again. I had a really long talk with my husband last week and he explained it to me in a way that made so much sense. He told me to think about it as painting a wall. When I go back and look at it, I notice I missed a f...

Going through the program a 2nd time

It's been a VERY long time since I've been on these boards. I went through the program roughly 7 years ago and had great success with it. I went from being agoraphobic and not being able to do ANYTHING by myself to doing EVERYTHING by myself including traveling all over the country to meet up with f...

Jeremy, You should be proud of yourself. I know exactly what you are going through. I was there also, not able to even go out of the house, let alone drive with anyone anywhere, even around the block. Then I promised my grandfather we would take him to north carolina to visit his brother. We drove t...

Hey brother, I know how you feel about alone time, and you're right: most people won't understand why you would rather be alone. I used to get pissed off at how they would judge me or lay on the guilt. I would just want to shout: Why is it such a big deal!? But yelling would make it worse, so I kept...
