Need help keeping stress from becoming anxiety!

I've done this session four times in three years and still have yet to master it! I have been going thru drastic family changes since 2010 and have not managed it too well. I pretty much had a complete relapse early November. I've been going thru the program again and am taking 25 mg. zoloft to help...

Re: New to the program

I, too, was desperate for relief or a cure when I first went through the program. I did go through the first two lessons in a few days, skipped the exercise/nutrition lesson, and the med/alcohol section. The sessions that I spent plenty of time on were 3, 4, and some of the latter sessions. Do not r...

The 7 Wonders That Will Change Your Life

Picked it up and read through it. It is good in that it encourages you to live honestly. How many times do we hide our true fears or weaknesses, bury them deep, then suffer the effects of anxiety, depression and OCD? I found some of the book a little scary, such as revisiting old wounds. I hate that...

Re: Need help, I am ruining my family!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am having a hard time distinguishing irrational thought right now. If someone else told me the same story I could comfort them that it is irrational OCD, but I am afraid to do it for myself. Maybe the theme is I am afraid I'm letting my family down if I struggle wi...

Re: Homeschooling 3 boys

This post is late but I, too, homeschool. I have tried looking for websites or blog written by parents who homeschool with this condition but can't find any. It is hard to think your kids are looking at you 24/7 and can see through your facade of togetherness.

Re: taking it out on my kids HELP!

I overreact too. I've always been an overreactor, though. It is a habit that you can break when you learn to adjust your expectations. It never hurts to go back to your kids afterwards and apologize and explain you didn't handle the situation well and that it's not their fault. No parent is perfect ...

Need help, I am ruining my family!

I have been thru the program and done well until recently. When I first had anxiety and obsessive thoughts it was about crime, like maybe I ran over someone and forgot, maybe I was writing a check that I had stolen from somebody, those people at the store look like meth dealers. The worst of all was...

I had pretty bad PPD with my third child. I had a traumatic pregnancy, early delivery, and hard time caring for his unique needs. I went on Zoloft and things got much better. I was only on it six or nine months and was able to get off them w/ no problems. Zoloft wasn't magic. I didn't like that I di...

Thank you for the responses. I always kind of feel like I'm just whining, or I'm met with comments like 'suck it up, it's not that bad, you're life is great.' I don't think hardly anyone that knows me really gets it. I feel like I'm dying most days, even if I'm smiling. I'm so fake it's like I'm mad...

Ernie, I understand how how feel, too. I am on week and feel more anxious. I am anxious about listening to the audio and doing the workbook. It seems I am discovering things I didn't know were bothering me. I guess we need to plod on to the next session, breathe and keep reminder ourselves its just ...
