Re: Angry and alone

Marialuv: I'm really sorry for what you experienced when you were a girl and your mom was sick and your dad was clueless. Those things affect us so much. How are you doing? I've been pretty good. I had an anxious day today -- had to teach some classes that I really wish were over and I hate feeling ...

Re: Feeling good today

mramirez: Good luck using the 6 steps tomorrow. Let me know how they work for you. Having a lot to do dismays me too when I'm feeling anxious. I just don't want to do any of them. My day ended up going okay despite my fierce desire to avoid everything this morning.

Re: Having a tough time controling my temper with my kids an

Hi, Bryson and Flower: I am in your camp. I read a book about raising teenagres, and it said that teens unload their emotions on their families because it's the safest place to do that. When I get anxious and irritable, I sure do that, and it mortifies me. In my more sane moments, I can see that it ...

Re: Birthday Jitters

Jenn: It sounds like a beautiful baptism ceremony. You are bringing forth the new you in so many ways. Don't be discouraged! An anxiety level of 4 is pretty good. It could have been worse. And you took some really positive steps after that to deal with your panicky feelings. "once I go under, I will...

Re: Having Anxiety after 8 years of going through program

Carrie (and all): I'm sure hoping it won't take so long. And I'm hoping that I won't be starting from as low a point. Did you experience that? Did you recognize the anxiety/depression train bearing down on you early enough to take action to help yourself? Or was that too many years of it being gone ...

Re: Angry and alone

Marialuv: Nice to hear from you again. Good for you with your breathing through things at the party AND not taking a comment personally. I've already taken a few comments personally today... I'm sorry about your experiencing your mom's nervous breakdown. How old were you? Was your dad around/support...

Re: Fear is back.....

John and Tina: Interesting back and forth on the including spouses or not in one's anxiety. I, too, have been married 20 years, and my spouse really doesn't "get" the anxiety or depression, really. It's kind of a big part of me to just ignore. Though I also know it is a lot to ask him to be understa...

Re: Having Anxiety after 8 years of going through program

Me too. I'm trying not to focus on the "oh, s***, why me" part too much and just get out the tools and go to work. Kind of like if the toilet overflows or the roof leaks or I back into the fence. I'm trying to release the anger about being in this position again (w/anxiety and depression), but there...

Re: Angry and alone

Marialuv: That's a great name -- or "handle." It’s funny that you mentioned your mother. My mother is wound pretty tight and is pretty much guaranteed to drive me right up the wall shortly after any conversation between us is initiated. So out of the blue today when I was visiting her, she said that...

Re: Birthday Jitters

Jenn: Your birthday and your baptism all in the same week. That's really great. It sounds like you handled your birthday party well -- mild disappointment about its quietness and all. Thank you for letting us know how it went. It sounds like you're doing a good job listening to what is good for your...
