When I took Lexapro, I had a bad couple of days, but by a week my bad side effects had pretty much subsided and I swear I was already starting to feel better. My thoughts are, Paxil may not be the right SSRI for you? Or maybe the dose is too high? Just a thought, good luck.

Personally I use this as the barometer for crazy/not crazy: If you think you're crazy, you're not. Crazy people think everyone else is crazy. I've had phrases stick in my head (complete with sound effects) that scared me. I remember once I saw the original "Shining" and the kids voice saying "Redrum...

I'm a fairly typical GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) type w/OCD tendencies and your story is very familiar to me. I believe you are suffering from hypochondriasis which is basically a form of OCD whereby a person is convinced they're ill, and no matter how many doctors tell them they're ok, or te...

I used to fear my house was haunted too. When we moved into my house, it was the culmination of an extremely stressful time in my life. Two years before, I had my first child and my husband got the dream job he's always wanted. Unfortunately it meant we had to move somewhere we had no friends or rel...

The scary thought is a distraction, but from what? Here's a few possibilities I have: -Underlying feeling that you're not that emotionally close to her, and may ultimately fail as a mother. -Underlying disassociation with your husband and family in general, perhaps due to over-focusing on yourself b...

I'm no expert, other than I'm a bonafide OCD obsessive thinker, but I'm willing to bet that the fear of being gay is in the top 10 list of obsessive thoughts. They're all distractions, and the scarier or more disturbing, the better. When I was younger I hated going on the second story of the mall be...

I'm having a flare-up of IBS right now, which is clearly caused by recent anxiety. I found this link on WEBMD and for some reason find it comforting: http://www.webmd.com/ibs/livin...ibs-6/ibs-and-stress I think the feeling that were not normal, or theres something more at work scares us. This says ...

I have a swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck which has been the source of my hypochrondriac focus since late summer. It's been enlarged for as long as I can remember, I was told by a doctor it was due severe ear infections as a child, and I never worried about it. But I started to notice...

Hello all, I've been gone awhile. I did the program October 2007, and it was the best thing I could have done for myself. The program made me realize how I was causing my anxiety with my negative thinking, catastrophizing, what iffing...It all made sense, and worked. I went off the Lexapro and up un...

Hi Dave, I'm very anger driven too. Like you, other's can sense my emotions and get upset when I'm upset, even when I put on my "happy face". I've even started to wonder if I'm some kind of telepath, broadcasting my emotions or something! For me, my anger ebbs and flows, so to speak. Right now, I'm ...
