Re: No money for the program

Hi Lisa, That's a tough one. I didn't have the money for it initially, either. A family member offered to get it for me--so I swallowed my pride big time. Maybe you can check your library to see if they have the program. If not, maybe they can get it for you through an InterLibrary Loan. If not, the...

Re: things were a little stressfull today

Hi! Good for you for starting the program. . . You will learn to take yourself less seriously, be patient with yourself, and take care of your needs. Are you finding the relaxation sessions helpful? They make a big difference, too. I hope you feel better soon. Take your time and take good care of yo...

Re: Considering the program; would appreciate input.

I think it's a great program. I first got the progam several years ago. The skills that I learned through the program really helped me calm down. Nothing's perfect. But the structure of the program really helped me. At first it seemed like a lot to do, and then I started to look forward to taking ca...

Re: no motivation ever I'm absent

It sounds like loneliness. I have had a similar thing happen a few times.

Good company helps. Perhaps you can schedule some social-type activities.

Otherwise be a good friend to yourself.

Re: Session 1 Homework Question

Hi Stix, Good for you for picking up the program. . . . I am excited for you. . . . there is so much that you will gain from the experience. I don't actually have the materials in front of me--it's been a few years since I've gone through the program. But I think you need to post this question in th...

Re: quarter life crisis

Hi Yellow80, Yeah, I can relate to what you have gone through. I also had my B.A. early (by 22). But then I and was disenchanted, disoriented, disgruntled, distressed and depressed, within a few years. Truth be told i was struggling with the yucky stuff all along. . . . it's just that school was a c...

Re: Discussing Finances w/Fam

Thanks Paislee! It helps to be reminded that it is not just my family that goes through this. I may have to check back in about this topic, as you suggested. However you have been very encouraging.

Discussing Finances w/Fam

I am noticing that discussions with family, particularly about money, have become more heated lately. (my elderly father is the victim of identity theft, my sister is trying to do financial planning for her family, etc.) I would not mind the discussions as much, if they were more calm. Otherwise my ...

Re: Relieved and Scared

Congrats!! That's so brave! (Of course, it's an adjustment, too. You seem to really understand that you need to keep your mind on healthy things. Maybe you can take a local class or volunteer or something . . . something a little challenging/fun. . . that way you'll have a way to be exposed to somet...

Re: Problems with relaxing

i played it three times a day. i certainly didn't fully listen at first. i got myself used to going to a quieter place, lying down, and playing the recording. (i live in the ny metro area, so quiet is a relative term...) some of my family gave me a hard time about taking this time for myself, at fir...
