Hey, Actually this is VERY common, I suffer from similar scary thoughts too, I could't wash knives,or be near scissors for awhile, b/c the fact that things were a "possibility" freaked me out. Be assured, while these thoughts may come and go, they're quite common, "normal people" think similar thing...
