I have .25 of Xanax to take as needed and the full dose usually knocks me out, so if I'm not home and I need it I take half.

Blue, I haven't taken that medicine so I can't really say anything about it. But it took my doctor and myself several tries to find a medicine that didn't either cause too many side effects or not work at all. I think if it is not making you feel worse, try to stick with it.
