Re: Dizziness

I had some similar feelings. I wondered if maybe it was part of having an elevated heart rate and shallow breathing.

Re: Longtime listener, first time caller.

Hi all,

Well, I'm sorry to have missed your replies, I've been having a rough spell here medically and Lucinda's been helping me through it. What an amazing woman.

I'm trying to check in far more often!

Because they've reinforced belief in these thoughts he or she will begin to hyperventilate or drive themselves to the emergency room.
Absolutely concur there. Circular thinking is one thing, but putting actual weight behind these obsessive thoughts is where you get into the "scary territory."

Re: scary/obsessive thought

I'd say in practice they're two different things - you can obsess about "the bridge" analogy, i.e. being scared about driving over and getting stuck on it; which then leads to the scary thought of "I'll hurt my kids" - you're using the stressor (and the obsessive thinking that accompanies it) and re...

Re: Last friend

Hi Stephanie, It sounds to me like the anxiety talking. A "what-if" scenario. Take a look: "...feel reassured that she still wants to be friends with me." "She says she still likes to join me for the day (every other month), but then I don't hear from her again until right before the next appointmen...

Re: Longtime listener, first time caller.

Kucek, I know your pain, emotionally and physically. I have been on medication for a bone spur inside of my C2 vertebrae that has been diagnosed as rubbing on my nerve, causing immense and blinding pain. Between this and suffering with the anxiety... I'd 10/10 times rather suffer with the physical d...

Re: Anyone else on Week 1?

Hi guys,

I'm surprised this forum is this quiet myself.
That said, keeping the journal is very key.

I've gone through this a few times, and found some of the smallest tips give the biggest results.

I have a special- needs child who needs me. He is the reason I keep going. I don't want too die, I want to live. For my son.
Remember - without you, he'll be in trouble... so don't do it for him - do it for yourself.

It's ok to be selfish when it comes to mental health.

Re: Anyone here?

I think that's a great way to approach it. Once you see that self-care and assertiveness can be fun, and not work, it begins to turn the corner for you. Now you're looking forward to areas where you can practice internal dialogue and standing up for yourself. I'm in the dating world and by meeting s...
