Re: Becoming Mean
Wow! Yes, this for me has been the most difficult part of getting better. And my family just doesn't understand. They take it personally and feel that I don't visit enough and I don't do enough for them. I wish I had advice, but I'm going through the same thing. It's like the "easier" route is to ju...

Re: am i going through depression that needs help?
I'm no dr. but it sounds like you may be suffering from mild depression. Is there anything going on in your life at the moment that may be getting you down? We all go through ups and downs in life, try and embrace the downs and know that life is constantly changing. A really great book I would highl...

Re: Husband seems to not be very supportive
It's unfortunate that your husband isn't being very supportive of your recovery, that said, one expectation we have to come to grips with, is the fact that not everyone will be supportive or understanding. If you don't suffer from anxiety, it's definitely difficult for someone to understand what we ...

Re: Sad to see not as much people on here anymore..
I used to be on these boards way back when too. It is sad to see. They've gotten very quiet the last couple of years and within the last year, it seems even worse. Ever since they migrated the forums, a lot of wonderful, old posts were lost which I think a lot of people used as a resource. What is g...

Re: tinnitus and anxiety
I do have ringing in my ears as well. I went through a tough period where I had a hard time getting to sleep at night because the ringing was so bad. What helped me at the time was to put some music on while falling asleep. Now I use a white noise machine, which really helps a lot. I do believe that...

Re: Avoidance/Dependency
Hi HollyKay, Have you passed out before? I think taking small steps to reclaiming your independence. You could start by making small trips out by yourself, using positive dialogue, reminding yourself that you're ok, the chances of you fainting are very unlikely and if you were to faint, someone woul...

Re: Family expectations
My sister and I always get over our issues, so that's a positive. I just feel like I've brought this up with my parents before and I don't think they really understood. I'm seeing a therapist now, so she's hopefully going to try and help me with this.

Re: Family expectations
Thanks Tina :) I appreciate the support and will take your words to heart. I think the problem is they take it personally when it has nothing to do with them. We love them just the same, we do enjoy visiting with them which I already feel we do a lot of but we also have a life. I guess I have to get...

Family expectations
Hi guys, I just need some advice. I have worked SO hard the last couple of years to be more assertive and sometimes say no to my family/friends. I always felt growing up that I had to do 100% of what was asked of me, which was a lot! That's fine when I was a kid but as I grew up and have become an a...
